The Volunteering Counts website is part of Volunteering 2012, a new project to encourage more people who live in Dudley borough to volunteer.
The project also aims to recognise the thousands of people across the borough who already make a real difference in their local communities through volunteering.
If the number of people volunteering increases by at least 5% by March 2010, then the borough will receive almost £700,000 to develop voluntary action in the borough.
The project, which initially runs until March 2010, will work with volunteers, voluntary groups and other organisations with an interest in volunteering.
The project is funded through Dudley Community Partnership and hosted by Dudley Council for Voluntary Service (DCVS).
DCVS was established in 1974 to act as an umbrella body for the community and voluntary sector in Dudley. It is one of more than 280 councils for voluntary service which operate as local development agencies promoting effective voluntary action throughout England. DCVS is a registered charity (number 517766) and a company limited by guarantee (number 1998105).
