Once the industrial hub of the borough, Brierley Hill has found success as a major retail centre in recent years.
Delph Road in Brierley Hill is known as the 'Real Ales Riviera' of Dudley and is home to an impressive number of pubs within a short stagger, including the famous Vine, known locally as the Bull and Bladder. The Nine locks (although, mysteriously there are only eight) run parallel to the road and provide a pleasant walk through a conservation area. Halfway up is a block of stables once used for boat horses and nearby the former lock-keeper's cottage can be seen.
